Mexican White Copal —
Bursera bipinnata
Mexican White Copal is an aromatic resin from Bursera bipinnata, traditionally used as incense since pre-Hispanic times. Its history is deeply linked to Mexican ceremonial culture and the ancient resins known as copalli.
Its aroma is fresh, bright, and resinous, with citrus, green, conifer, and slightly sweet notes. When cold, it evokes fresh sap, citrus peel, and pine needles; when heated, it becomes warmer, balsamic, and enveloping.
It can be used as incense, in aromatic blends, tinctures, alcohol extraction, or distillation for perfumery.
