Vintage Essence 1936

Origin: Historic perfumery formula, developed in the first half of the 20th century.

Material type: Vintage aromatic composition.

Olfactory description

Essence 1936 presents a characteristic profile of classic European perfumery before World War II. Its opening displays luminous citrus notes dominated by bergamot, accompanied by soft aromatic nuances that provide freshness and elegance.

After the first few minutes, the composition evolves into a warm and enveloping heart where balsamic, slightly caramelized, and animalic facets appear. These notes are reminiscent of old perfumery bases enriched with animal-derived materials, providing depth, texture, and a richness hard to find in contemporary formulations.

The base reveals a persistent resinous, vanilla, and amber structure, where the different raw materials are completely fused after decades of natural maturation.

Aromatic evolution

- Top notes: bergamot, soft citrus, and aromatic facets.

- Heart notes: balsamic, slightly animalic, and caramelized.

- Base notes: vanilla, noble resins, amber, and long-lasting warm notes.

Historical interest

Vintage essences are authentic olfactory testimonies of an era when perfumery used raw materials and manufacturing methods very different from today's.

Many of the substances used during the first decades of the 20th century were later reformulated, restricted, or replaced by modern alternatives. As a result, these compositions retain aromatic nuances that are rarely found in contemporary products.

In addition to the formula itself, the passage of time produces a natural evolution of the blend. Decades of resting allow the different components to reach a degree of integration virtually impossible to reproduce through accelerated processes.

Applications in perfumery

- Study of historical perfumery.

- Recreation of classic accords.

- Olfactory collecting.

- Source of inspiration for perfumers.

- Enrichment of oriental, amber, and classic floral bases.

Technical observations

- Color: variable, from golden amber to dark brown depending on the batch and age.

- Aromatic intensity: high.

- Tenacity: very high.

- Diffusion: medium-high.

Due to the historical nature of the material, slight variations between batches may exist, resulting from natural aging and original production methods.

An olfactory capsule from the past

More than a simple aromatic essence, Essence 1936 offers the possibility of experiencing a part of perfumery history. Its aroma retains the character, richness, and complexity of an era when natural raw materials and animal ingredients played a fundamental role in the construction of great classic fragrances.
