Kashmir Musk – 1990

Harvested in the highlands of Kashmir, this aged musk is part of a private collection from the Sultanate of Oman. Its scent is a pendulum swing between devotion and daring: dusty notes of bitter cocoa, an almost carnal human base, an insinuation of sun-dried iris roots.

It is chocolatey, powdery, animalic. It draws you in like an intimate whisper, yet pushes you away like an ancestral cry.

The Olfactory Profile of Deer Musk: A Profound Sensory Experience

When we talk about authentic musk, it’s impossible to ignore its olfactory dimension: unique, impactful, and deeply emotional. Deer musk, especially in its purest and aged form, has an aroma that is as potent as it is complex.

This Kashmir musk has a very chocolatey profile. Like sweat. And like humanity. A description that may seem contradictory, but perfectly reflects its ambiguous and provocative nature.

A powdery sensation is often perceived, reminiscent of the dry, velvety nuances of raw cocoa. It is the same texture one might find in a musky rose or in certain amber tones of an aged oud.

Its profile is not static. It is very multifaceted. Depending on what you blend it with, it changes completely. Musk camouflages itself, adapts, and enhances other notes as if it had its own intelligence. In one composition, it can provide animal warmth, while in another it can offer a clean and sensual effect, like skin-on-skin contact.

This type of musk is extremely rare in today's market. Making it a collector's item, an ingredient reserved only for the most devoted perfumers or for stores with true olfactory authority.

Therefore, having it in-store is not just a commercial advantage, it is a statement of principles. It is a commitment to the authentic, the unrepeatable.

In niche perfumery, musk acts as an olfactory “anchor.” It gives soul to the perfume. It fixes it and gives it longevity without dulling other notes. As a raw material in perfumery, it is of utmost importance, giving strength and permanence to plant essences with its powerful and lasting scent, thus being an ingredient in many compound perfumes.

An olfactory gem that is neither replicated, manufactured, nor synthesized. It simply exists.
